Choosing a home security company: Recommendations?
Emma asked:
My fiance and I would like to get a home security system. There is an old inactive one already installed by Sears. Price is important to him, but reliability is the most important factor for me.

So this is a simple question. Which company would you go with and why?

All are about the same. The number one question to ask if the call center for an emergency’s is out sourced. I was the emergency contact for my sister. When I returned home I had to listen to my answering machine eight times before I understood the message. I only caught her last name and nothing else. It was defiantly India. Sorry, I don’t remember the company. Just ask first.

Guardian is good.
They take precautions the others don’t. It will run you around $50 per month or less. You can defeat almost all the others by doing one thing. This one thing does not defeat one of their systems, but it’s the upgrade that kicks the price up by about $5.
You can also piece-meal it too if you want to and have the talent for it. It’s not hard. You can make a really comprehensive system and comparably it’s cheaper than buying, but it’s up to you.

Brinks is good and they have been sold and
Broadway bought it and now is selling a new update

You might want to check out a company called Monitronics.
They’re newer than some of the other companies, but seem to be working hard to make a name for themselves.
Like one of the previous answerers said, you don’t want a company that outsources their monitoring service to India or someplace overseas. Monitronics boasts a 5 Diamond Certification for their call center, and it looks like you can custom design a system to fit your budget.
Hope this helps!
